Knowledge is Power
Humans can be such complicated creatures. "Life is simple, we make it complicated". I know what you're doing and it makes me cringe in disgust. I love hearing to your lies when I know the truth.
In this silence, I know.

Music
Lately, I hear music from all things around me. The rain's pitter patter against my glass windows, the wind whistling through the cracks in homes. So pleasing to the ears.
I hear music in the silence of the night. Because there's never total silence, is there? The biggest silence I've heard was in Aliwee Cave. Even then, if I listened hard enough, I could hear my heart beating.
Of course, I don't see the point in this post except to remind myself of how music can come in the form of pseudo silence. Or maybe I really didn't have a point and it's just one of those thoughts that pops up in your mind and make you go "Okay -what- was that all about?"
Most likely the latter.
Responsibility
Why are you still sticking by a marriage when you've realised the love is gone? Because of the kids and the people you don't wish to disappoint.
Why are you stuck in a field you dislike?
Because of the people who've put you through school and tide you over with loans. You don't wish to disappoint.
Why are you stuck in a job you hate, and know will never get better?
Because you haven't heard from anyone else, and you're unsure of your luck after, and you need the finances to keep your family afloat.
I think life is a bucket full of madness for the little slivers of joy. Someone famous and rich once said, 'Life is unfair, get used to it'. You either get used to it, or you'll be the death of yourself and everyone else around you with your incessant whinings and rants. I'm already starting Path B.

Nature Strikes
With the bout of natural disasters happening all around the world, it's almost unfair that we have the choice to remain in this little bubble thinking everything is alright, everything is safe. It's almost as though there's a split screen between us, the fortunate and the not so. How different would our lives be if by a split chance, we were born in these nations of poverty, or those in constant battle against natural disasters?
From young, I've always thought one day I'd be able to do something aside from just donating the little I have to spare. I'd be helping people rebuild lives, and extracting life lessons from them in return. I've always believed that would be the best transaction life could ever give me, after all these sheltered years.
I just never knew where to start, never knew who to look for, never knew what I could give. I'd love to work in an NGO, again I don't know who and where I should start searching. Do I need special certs and undergo special courses? If anyone reading has any special pointers, do leave a comment. All comments are moderated as usual.
At the end of the day, I'm constantly burnt out by work. Not knowing why I'm doing what I'm doing. Not understanding why we're slaves to the daily grind, just for the sake of the little money we get in return and nothing else. How much more meaningful it would be if the stresses you go through would benefit so much more people that really need us.

Twitter Outage
I promise myself I'd be back at this space when I've gotten myself a new macbook. Blogging on anything else is just frustrating somehow. Don't mention blogging, I'm not even motivated to upload photos anywhere. They're just waiting and wasting away in my camera.
I want my photoshop, my garageband, my final cut pro, my indesign, and my microsoft office that doesn't crash under a little over average pressure. :(
I've got so many things I've learnt about myself and my progressing life that I wish to store on here...but I just have zero motivation to type it all out on the laptops that crashes or under the scrutiny of colleagues at work.
I miss talking to myself about what's happening around me, to me and to everyone I love or don't even know.
Twitter's been dealing fine with my sudden outbursts of random thoughts and rantings. But I do miss writing freely and as long as I want to. Like now. Really therapeutic.
Oh yes, the title. Twitter's down and there's no reason for it yet. But times like this, reminds me I'll always have my blog to fall back on (except on days it's doing maintenance) Ahem. Yes.
Hello me, I'll hear from myself soon...when the next massive Twitter outage happens or when I get my macbook. Whichever comes first. ;)

Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010.
2009 marked a very important year in my life.
It was the year I finally graduated . It was a year I finally had time to spend with the friends far away from home, and was allowed the chance to open my eyes to the world out of Singapore. (Thank you, Christopher, Manuel and Tony for hosting me and my friends in Germany. Thank you, Shelleys, for the best Irish hospitality one could ask for, time and time again.) It was also the year parents of both sides finally met. :)
It was the year I felt new found hope for my future. A year of painful lessons and revelations, of beautiful experiences of love and joy - A story of growth.
I've made a couple more new great friends, little surprises along the way, and kept the old ones close at heart. (Thank you, facebook)
By the end of 2009, I can finally see what I've been working towards - I can see my future with much more clarity now.
2009 is a year I will continue to hold close to my heart. So thanks all for being a part of it, big or small, they've impacted my life in one way or another. I shall use these experiences to keep improving myself as a person through the next decade.
Thank you for always believing in me, you guys know who you are. Love each and every one of you reading this and I wish you guys the best for the new decade. Let us remind one another in darker times that Life is not for the weak, that we have to keep battling on through the bad times, to earn the good. Never give up. That's the only way we learn to appreciate what we have earned. We all know this deep down inside, we just need to be reminded once in awhile. So keep reminding me when necessary, and I hope to return the favour.
I've got so many things to say, I'm on a roll here. But I'm sure you guys already know what's in my heart. ;) I shall end the monotony with a cliche: Happy New Year, and have a blast! More love, less hate!
Lovelovelove,
Nura

God
But I'm Atheist.
Then pray to your Atheist God!
Oh alright, I guess that's myself.
